Playoffs and the trophy room
Seed from standings, generate the bracket, schedule games, record the cup separately from the regular-season champ.
How to
- When a division has regular-season results, seed from the table. Seeds lock after a playoff game is final.
- Standard field: 4 plays 5, 1 waits, 2 plays 3. A 7-team field also plays 2v7 and 3v6. Halves stay locked.
- Generate the bracket, then Plan playoff ice to hold remaining TBD games in every seeded division after that division’s last regular-season night (preview, then commit — same idea as Plan season). Open a matchup: each game lists Move and Postpone. Postpone and later games move down a number. Enter a score, or record who won. Played games stay on the tree. Finals are best of 3. Admin → Ice can also place a slot. Higher seed is home.
- Set series winners as games finish. Regular-season champion is recorded separately from the playoff cup. Both show in the Trophy Room, as hanging banners on that team’s page, and on player pages for anyone on that roster that season.
A division with games-per-team 0 is treated as finished and is not seeded.
TBD listings are ice holds until both clubs are known. Saving a hold with both teams set creates the TBP game. Same-club rink bookings (Bombers v Bombers) are those holds on the rink calendar — schedule a real matchup onto them. Postpone G1 and G2 becomes G1, G3 becomes G2; hold a new last game when ice is ready. Plan playoff ice fills remaining rounds from open ice after each division’s last regular-season night. Open a bracket matchup to pick an open ice slot, move ice, or enter a score. Plan season does not place playoffs.
